Osteria La Sol Fa: Reviews & Ratings
This place has authentic Roman food. We had carbonara and oxtail stew, both were very delicious. For dessert we had tiramisu with hazelnut paste. It is not a traditional tiramisu but I found it very delicious.
First meal in Rome, overall was okay. Trippa a Romana — tasted good, clean and no weird smell! Coda a’Vacinana - oxtail was my favourite! Really nice! Chicory was a little salty. Casio e Pepe is okay —— Good thing about the restaurant is that you can order a half size portion for a reduced price. Takes quite abit of time for the food to be served.
Absolutely fantastic experience! The gricia pasta was perfect- rich, flavorful, and authentic. The tiramisu was one of the best I’ve ever had - light, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Great food, lovely atmosphere, and friendly service. Highly recommend! I also tried the tripa - it wasn’t my favorite, but that’s just a matter of taste. I’m glad I tried something new!
Authentic roman food. Best caccio e pepe i had in my life. Everything was perfect. Food 15/10, Staff 15/10 Make sure to make a reservation because it is very popular for locals. It its full 5min after opening.
Score: 4.4 Really nice little spot, kind of hidden from the crowds but still had a good vibe and was pretty full. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and they’ve got outdoor seating too, which is a plus. We had the carbonara and amatriciana both were tasty. Ended with tiramisu, but honestly, that and the house wine were a bit disappointing. Nothing terrible, just not amazing. Prices were fair though, and overall, good value for the quality. Would definitely go back and try something else.
An incredible gem in Rome. The decor and atmosphere is cute and simple. The prices are very reasonable. The service is excellent and quick. And above all, the food is excellent. The Roman tripes are a must try, and a local delicacy!
A True Roman Gem – Osteria La SolFa in Rome! ???????? If you’re looking for an authentic Roman experience, Osteria La SolFa is a place you can’t miss. It’s more than just a meal – it’s a full immersion into Roman tradition, flavors, and hospitality. The Food: Roman Soul in Every Bite We sampled a wonderful variety of dishes: • Tagliatelle alla Gricia, Carbonara, and Amatriciana – Classic Roman pastas done with mastery. The sauces are rich, balanced, and full of character. • Polpettone & Polpette – Juicy, rustic, and full of flavor. • Stuffed Eggplants with cherry tomatoes and anchovies – a standout, bursting with flavor. • Cicoria ripassata & Patate cafone – True Roman side dishes, cooked with care. • Tiramisol’ – A decadent hazelnut tiramisù served in a jar – absolutely irresistible! Local & Genuine Products What really impressed us was their focus on local ingredients from Lazio – from seasonal vegetables to meats and cheeses, even the amari (bitters) come from small local producers. This dedication to regional excellence gives the whole meal a unique depth and connection to the territory. The Team: Roman and Professional The staff are the real deal – proudly Roman, deeply knowledgeable, and incredibly welcoming. Their professionalism is matched by their warm, down-to-earth attitude. You feel like you’re being hosted, not just served. Atmosphere: La Roma Vera The ambiance is lively and relaxed, with fun Roman dialect on the menu (“Che se magna”, “Er primo ‘n più”) that adds charm and humor. It feels local, not touristy – just how a true osteria romana should be. Excellent Value Portions are generous, pricing is honest, and the option for half portions means you can try a bit of everything. ⸻ Final Verdict: Osteria La SolFa is the perfect balance between tradition and quality.
